Located on a 150 acre private beach reserve along the Nicoya Peninsula on the Pacific Coast, Tango Mar offers the intimate exclusivity of a small, deluxe beach resort on a vast site where you can find a space to call your own.

Restaurant:
The philosophy at Tango Mar is to provide a friendly, relaxed and attentive service. Staff is carefully selected and groomed to anticipate the needs of our guests and will do whatever possible to guarantee an unforgettable vacation. International gourmet cuisine, Costa Rican specialities are carefully prepared by master chefs.
Breakfast and dinner are served at the "Cristobal" Restaurant, overlooking the ocean with a casual yet romantic setting. This nice restaurant is decorated with bamboo and furnished with fine Cristobal wood.
Before dinner enjoy a tropical cocktail at our "Tango" Bar, or our new oceanside deck (above). For lunch and refreshments at the beach or poolside, the new Rancho Grill "El Pirata" throughout the day serves drinks, cocktails, sandwiches, salads and light meals of your choice (below).
For special group events, let Tango Mar's Catering Service dazzle you with a beautiful buffet spread, catered picnics and drinks service. A favorite is the Pirata Beach Palapa at night for your wedding reception or special gathering. Let us arrange a band or disco for you.
You can entertain your group at the magnificent Presidential Villa, or at the Mirador with its panoramic view of ocean and beach. Recreation:
At Tango Mar the opportunities for relaxation and adventure are endless.
Two private beaches have over a mile of sand for walking and sunbathing. Venture along the cliffs to the Mirador for a breathtaking panorama of beach and ocean. Then explore the coastline and a sign-posted nature trail on a visit to a nearby cove where you will discover a 40-foot waterfall bursting through a cliff into the natural ocean pool below. Or, take a refreshing dip in our pool during the day or evening.
Enjoy a game of tennis during the day or evening on the illuminated courts at Tango Mar. Or do what most other people do... laze amid the beautiful surroundings of the spring-fed swimming pool set in a picture-perfect jungle garden of exotic plants and trees.
Rooms:
Each of Our 18 Beachfront Hotel Rooms has a breathtaking view
of the Pacific Ocean from its own private balcony. Features 2 queen size beds, tropical style furniture, air conditioning and ceiling fans, fully equipped mini-bar, coffee maker, private bath with hot water and large shower, safe deposit box, satellite TV and telephone.
These oversized hotel rooms are right on the beach, so close to the ocean that in high tide the surf touches the base of the building and the gentle sounds of the surf put you to sleep every night.
Tropical Suites:
Vacation in luxury at these twelve hilltop, Tropical Suites. These unique and charming rooms are surrounded by exuberant tropical gardens and are just 90 steps from the beach on a bluff overlooking the Pacific. Elegantly appointed, each suite is graced with hand carved four post canopy king size bed. All rooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans, private bath with jaccuzi, hair dryer, mini bar, coffee maker, safe deposit box, telephone and satellite TV. All suites are contained within an elliptical, shell shaped cluster and share a sun deck.
Tiki Suites:
These five, deluxe ocean view Polynesian style wood and bamboo cabanas sit on stilts just 60 ft. (20m) from the beach, just below the Tropical Suits and to the side of the hotel. They are surrounded by tropical gardens and palm trees.
All suites are furnished with fine carved wood king size beds, sitting areas, air conditioning, ceiling fans, mini bar, coffee maker, safe deposit boxes, telephones, satellite TV, private jacuzzi, hair dryer and a stained glass dome window.
Golf
Golf is a main attraction. Laid out over gently rolling grounds and across the cliffs above the ocean, the resort's neatly groomed, 9-hole par 3 and 4 Executive Golf Course gives you a great day's play in the tropical surroundings of palm trees and exotic birds.
"Tango Mar has a nine hole course and for that reason alone many of us would eliminate it from our list of courses to play but this course is perfect for tuning up the most important and most neglected part of your game : the short game. This is not a chip and putt course as you can see by the course layout below. The number of people with access to play Tango Mar is very limited. This allows you to play as many holes as you like or practice to your heart's content. Tango Mar is not an easy course. If you 've ever had the thrill of watching the Masters in Augusta; Georgia, and have walked their nine hole par three course, you know that the beauty and difficulty of a golf course are not necessarily measured by its distance." |
