The name TI-MAR-AI is inspired by the elements TIerra (Earth), MAr (Sea), and AIre (Wind). We feel these elements bring us closer to the basic principle of harmony with nature necessary to live and enjoy different sports, and educational and social activities. We feel we must understand that we shouldn´t simply change our surroundings to suit us, instead we need to appreciate the cycles of nature and adapt to them.
The concept of Timarai Bamboo Resort is centered around being in harmony with and immersed in nature. This is a place to rest in a calm evironmentally oriented resort and where you can also entertain yourself at sports which involve a true understanding of nature. Nature inspires us and we give it our personal touch.
There is a coherence in the sensations you will experience in Timarai. Our accommodations are 100 per cent ecologically friendly, inspired by nature and adherind to the rules of "sustainable development". The structure of each of the rooms and bungalows in Timarai is built primarily of Guadua Bambusa Angustifolia (one of the many species of bamboo), and covered in Timagua (a stucco-like mud) in countless textures, colors, and curves which will make you feel comfortable and relaxed in a natural environment. All the finishes are Teak and the furniture is handmade of Cedar. These aromatic materials will captivate you from the moment you enter, and throughout your entire stay at Timarai.
Location:
Geograhically, Timarai´s location is very privileged, bathed in four distinct waters: the salt water of the Pacific Ocean, the salubres waters of the mangrove, the fresh water of the earth, and the rejuvenating powers of the rain. As water is a precious resource in these times, Timarai is diligent in its efforts to conserve as much as possible, while at the same time providing countless aquatic recreational activities.
The principal characteristics of the original construction in bamboo and timagua, one-of-a-kind in Costa Rica and in Central America in general.
Position: 6km from the Playa Isla Palo Seco road, direction SE.
Surface: 1.5 hectares.
Built-up area: 1,300 sqm.
Accommodation capacity: 66 pax.
Distribution: 4 suites for 4- 5 pax (16 - 24 pax ), 1 building with 4 double rooms ( 8 pax ), 1 building with 8 double rooms and 6 rooms for up to 4 persons (these ones distributed in 2 levels).
No other than natural materials were used to build this resort. You will immediately recognize the beauty of nature, which when combined with a little imagination and an artistic touch results in homey accommodations where the walls breath. With its roughly 118 linear miles of Guadua Bambusa, Timarai is the largest, most ambitious bamboo project worldwide.

Standard: ll our rooms are designed to offer you a pleasant, natural space to relax. Our original design which harmonizes with the surroundings offers you endless places to enjoy moments of solitude and relaxation and unforgettable experiences. On the terrace you will find a hammock chair for your comfort and a hanging towel space.
Your room includes the following:
Leisure: TV, Satellite International and national channels (w. remote control).
Air Conditioner: Each bedroom is equipped with AC.
Bathrooms: Hot water, air dryer, magnifying Mirror, personal care set, set of 4 towels and floor towel.
Security: Private security is on the property day and night. Every room has a security box for your valuables.
Internet: Rent wireless service if you bring your laptop. If you need one please inquire at the front desk about laptop rentals.

Suites: Our suites are designed to provide guests a comfortable, cozy environment. The maximum capacity is 5 persons per Suite. 2 double rooms plus an extra bed (oriental futon) located in the 2nd floor studio.
